“Worm Theology: God’s Faithfulness in the Book of Job”

Job is a wealthy man living in a land called Uz with his large family and extensive flocks. He is “blameless” and “upright,” always careful to avoid doing evil. One day, Satan (or “the devil” or “the Adversary” depending on your translation) appears before God in heaven. According to our spiritual legend, God allows the devil to interfere with Job’s life, ultimately knowing that Job would faithful to God. The view of God and the balance of good and evil seems a little unusual in the book of Job! And it’s worth diving into!
